The Great Gatsby. I may regret saying this but I wasn't that impressed. Broken hearts, jealous lovers, drinking, a car wreck. Maybe I'm not able to distiguish between good writing and a story that strikes me as a little juvinile. There are just so many excellent contemporary authors. I mean how is it a classic becomes a classic? Does it somehow create a life of it's own after ending up on a high school reading list. Am I a philistine, totally missing a great read? Help me out. What's your opinion?
