Katherine's Christmas Cactus is in bloom. Only three buds but we're hoping for more. I'll tell everyone right now that this is as close as we get to ornaments, decorations or music. In other words we're a Christmas free zone. How nice. I know, a little hypocritical as we truly do appreciate our customers doing there holiday shopping here but...that's the way it is. We all need just a little reprieve and the book store offers that. An oasis during a difficult time. Amen.

The beauty of books. The luxury of a bookshelf. How can people not see it? Unless of course they're too busy with the next level of a video game, or texting someone and oblivious to the world around them, or maybe that cell call is oh so important that friends they're with can just wait. Who are these people that have so lost touch with the simple pleasures that are right there in front of their face? Yes, well books. To touch and hold and smell. We need to be far more selective as to whom we sell our books to. No more books for obnoxious cell phone users. |
