Kind of a poor photo but this guy was on the telephone pole across the road from the bookstore. A good omen as he showed up the same afternoon that Tanna and Terry from the Birdfest were having an inpromptu meeting. I think the 2014 Birdfest will be even better than last year's. These guys are big. The first year we moved here we'd seen a whole family out at the pipeline walk at the wildlife centre. Not too uncommon but always a treat.
